Kirsty Young (born 23 November 1968) is a Scottish radio and television presenter.
Early Career: Young began her broadcasting career in radio, working for BBC Radio Scotland and then BBC Radio 5 Live.
Television: She moved into television, presenting various programs, including "Crimewatch" and "Holiday."
Five News: A significant part of her television career was her role as the anchor of "Five%20News" on Channel 5.
Desert Island Discs: Young is most widely known for being the presenter of "Desert%20Island%20Discs" on BBC Radio 4 from 2006 to 2018. She took over from Sue Lawley.
Health Break: In 2018, Young took a break from "Desert%20Island%20Discs" due to fibromyalgia. Lauren Laverne filled in as the host during her absence.
Return to Broadcasting: She returned to broadcasting with special events coverage for the BBC.
Personal Life: Young is married to businessman Nick Jones, the founder of the Soho House Group.
